Songs We Carry is a collaborative project in which oud virtuoso Saied Silbak and multi-instrumentalist Ana Silvera explore commonalities between their musical heritages; the emotional melancholy of Ladino (Judeo-Spanish) and the rich maqams and intricate melodies of the Arabic song. Conveying family stories and tales of cultural traditions, Silbak and Silvera open up a world not only around the music, but also to the lives and cultures that shaped it.

On the occasion of the Kulturminnedagene 2024, The Gambian Association is inviting the Gambian spoken word artist Papa J. Jammeh to an event at Melahuset that focus on spoken word, storytelling and Manding history.
