PalKveld: Sexual Violence as a Weapon of Genocide

The Palestine Committee welcomes you to a meeting and presentation with the feminist organization Miftah from Palestine. They will present their latest report "Sexual violence as a Weapon of Genocide" and we will meet a Palestinian woman who shares her experiences as a prisoner in an Israeli jail in 2024.

For over a year, Israel has been using sexual violence as a genocidal tactic against both Palestinian men and women. While sexual violence has long been a method of torture at Israeli military checkpoints, during raids on Palestinians’ own homes, and inside prisons, its use has increased dramatically since the start of the genocide in Gaza. The Palestinian NGO MIFTAH has been collecting testimonies from released female Palestinian prisoners who have been held in Israeli prisons. They will share the findings from their latest report, “Sexual Violence as a Weapon of Genocide.” Joining MIFTAH is a recently released female prisoner who was held in an Israeli prison for three months.
