Sinimuso

Finno-Ugric Kalevala poems and ancient kantele melodies meet Saharan blues, groovy Bambara rhythms, dance and soulful Peul melodies. Sinimuso is both a group of female musicians from Mali and Finland, but it is also a project that breaks musical boundaries and paves the way for new possibilities.
Sinimuso means "women of the future" in the Malian language Bambara, and the term future is an apt description when the seven musicians merge their Malian and Finnish musical traditions and together create a distinctive sound with lyrics that relate to women's lives and hopes for the future.
In October they will release their debut album Nouskaa Sisaret, and in connection with this they will be touring the Nordic countries and we are so lucky that Melahuset will be one of their stops on the road.
