Melafestivalen is one of Norway's largest outdoor festivals, founded in 2001 by Khalid Salimi. Mela, which means meeting place in the classical Sanskrit language, is on Rådhusplassen, and includes art and cultural expressions such as music, food and literature. The festival is open to everyone, without an entrance ticket.
