- Challenging the opportunity space

The dance collective B16 has also created its own district, Bydel 16, which is populated by 20 dancers, actors, singers, poets and writers between the ages of 16 and 32. The collective represents a rich spectrum of dancers with the aim of creating safe spaces of opportunity for young people interested in the arts and, not least, expanding the horizon of what and who is represented in the dance field in Norway. They have already made a name for themselves at Det Norske Teateret during the Hedda Award, Soul Sessions Womanhood and Nobel Peace Center, among others, and they are guaranteed to be in a dancing mood when the collective opens the Mela Festival's main stage on Friday 18 August.
