When Oslo Mela is held at Rådhusplassen from August 18 to 20, Ashley Shiri will take over as festival manager. Shiri has been the producer of Melafestivalen since 2004/2005 and has been associated with the festival since it was first organized in 2001.
Ashley Shiri takes over the job from Khalid Salimi, who has been festival director since he started Melafestivalen in 2001. Salimi will continue as director of Oslo Mela.

Ashley Shiri has previously worked for the Antiracist Center and Radio Immigranten. He has been editor-in-chief of Tellus Radio, and currently works for both Melafestivalen and Melahuset.
