WELCOME TO GLOBAL@MELAHUSET
This Tuesday evening, we're gearing up for a new edition of our meetings with creative and performing artists, where we take a closer look at their careers, backgrounds and artist profiles. Live music from our own repertoire will naturally follow. This time we have invited Mirsaeed Hosseiny Panah, who in recent years has contributed significantly to the Norwegian music scene with his compositions and as a performer.
Doors open at 19:00
Mirsaeed Hosseiny Panah is an Iranian composer and musician whose main instrument is the santoor. His curiosity about different musical genres motivated him to study classical music and jazz in addition to the heritage of Iranian classical music. Because of his diverse background, he believes that despite the contrasts between these musical genres, there is still a musical language that combines them.
Before moving to Norway, he built up a remarkable background in Iran. His resume includes teaching at various universities, numerous commissions as a composer and arranger, appearances as a soloist on several albums, roles as a score supervisor for recordings of several albums, the creation of three ensembles and authorship, among many other achievements.
In recent years he has received a number of composition commissions in Norway, not least for the Arctic Philharmonic, and in 2025 he will deliver a work for the ensemble Ellayali commissioned by Global Oslo Music. He released the album "I Wish I Were Water" on Losen Records in 2023.
Free admission.
