The British-Pakistani writer and historian Tariq Ali receives both criticism and widespread acclaim. More than anything else, he created debate with his latest book about the notorious former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill. Just with the title of the book "Winston Churchill, His Times, His Crimes" , Ali shatters previous notions about Churchill.
The Churchill cult calls Tariq Ali the cult that grew around Churchill in the post-World War II era.
In Oslo, Ali will meet national librarian Aslak Sira Myhre in conversation about Churchill and the way the author uses history for contemporary political purposes.
