About the artists:

Aima Baig
– Powerful voice and raw emotions
Since entering the music world in 2015, Aima Baig has become one of Pakistan's biggest pop sensations, captivating audiences with everything from soulful ballads to catchy pop songs.
She started her music career on the Dunya News show Mazaaq Raat, before appearances on Coke Studio and in various films ensured that she was on everyone’s lips and ears. Today, she is one of Pakistan’s most popular singers, and her performance, alongside legends like Ali Zafar and Arif Lohar, at the opening of Gaddafi Stadium proves that the title “Queen of Pop” is more than deserved.
With her powerful voice, Aima Baig enriches her songs with raw emotion, captivating listeners from the first note to the last. She has a unique ability to set musical trends, and shows her love for music through interesting musical collaborations and fresh, innovative interpretations of classic songs, and we can only look forward to her closing this year's Oslo Mela in August.

F1rstman
– Groundbreaking and danceable genre experimentation
F1rstman truly lives up to his name and has established himself as one of the leading South Asian artists creating new musical styles based on genre play, and a refreshing and groundbreaking sound.
F1rstman, whose real name is Hassan Syed, was born in Lahore but grew up in the Netherlands. He started playing various percussion instruments at an early age before discovering hip-hop in his teens, and his musical style is truly influenced by his cultural background; from the Bollywood music he grew up with, the Arabic melodies he picked up in the neighborhood shisha cafes, and the qawwali and Sufi melodies his father listened to. He has combined this with Western hip-hop and R&B, and his genre experimentation is both groundbreaking and danceable, with heavy beats and lots of energy.
Despite millions of streams and countless gold and platinum successes, F1rstman is most concerned with spreading joy, energy and community – something he will surely be able to do at Rådhusplassen in August.

Harpreet Bansal band feat. Sharat Chandra Srivastava
– A musical exploration of personal and musical roots
It gets personal and experimental when award-winning violinist and composer Harpreet Bansal opens Oslo Mela's main stage in August with his band and Indian violinist Sharat Chandra Srivastava.
In recent years, she has distinguished herself as one of the most distinctive and exciting Norwegian musicians. Her deeply personal version of the Indian raga is a unique blend of her musical heritage and the impressions and experiences that come from living life between two cultures, experiences that also came in handy in her musical collaboration with the rap duo Karpe. Harpreet Bansal just released the critically acclaimed album "States of Mind" in which she crosses musical genre boundaries, expands our understanding of what can be defined as roots and thus creates a unique musical expression that is both deeply personal and sensual.
At Rådhusplassen she plays with a band consisting of Andreas Brattlie on tabla, Vojtech Prochazka on harmonium, Reshail Mansoor on vocals, Adrian Fiskum Myhr on bass and the Indian violinist Sharat Chandra Srivastava.
