A unifying king has passed away 
At Mela we remember King Harald as an inclusive and down-to-earth king who met his fellow humans with respect, warmth and curiosity. We have had the pleasure and honor of welcoming him to Mela twice. Melafestivalen ; the first time in 2002, when the festival was first held at Rådhusplassen, and in 2005. Both visits showed that he was interested in the diverse nature of Norway and that he was the king of all Norwegians. Harald was a king who was easy to love, and who constantly reminded us of the importance of community and taking care of each other.
Our thoughts go out to his loved ones. Thank you for everything you have been and done.
