Here is some useful and practical information about Oslo Mela. Should you still have any questions for us, you can either send us an email at mela@mela.no or on social media. Enquiries will be answered as soon as possible, but please note that it can be hectic during the festival and it may take some time before we respond.
- Where is the festival area? Oslo Mela is held at Rådhusplassen in Oslo. The festival area is open 12-23 every day. Admission to the festival is free and no tickets are needed. The concerts take place on the main stage, at MelaFantasi there are activities and performances for children and the concerts at MelaKlassisk can be experienced at the Nobel Peace Center. Oslo Mela is also a festival for the whole family, so we have no age limit at Rådhusplassen.
- How to get to Rådhusplassen? The easiest way is to take public transport, or walk/cycle. The nearest train station is Nationaltheatret and several buses, trams and metros also stop here. There is also a tram to Aker Brygge. There is no dedicated car parking at Rådhusplassen. Check ruter.no for times.
- Who's playing when? You can find our schedule on our website , or download the Broadcast app and get the schedule directly on your mobile.
- Is it allowed to bring your own food and drinks? Yes, it is possible to bring your own food and drinks, but there are also opportunities to buy lots of good food at the festival site. Please note that alcohol is not allowed.
- Is there anything else important I should remember? Remember to check the weather forecast before you go to Rådhusplassen and bring enough clothes to last the day. Even if the sun is shining, it can get chilly in the evening. If it rains, it's a good idea to bring a rain jacket and not an umbrella, as it gets in the way of other people at the concert.
- Most importantly: Bring a good mood and be considerate of others at the festival so that everyone has a good time at the festival.
