F1rstman
– Groundbreaking and danceable genre play
F1rstman created a real party atmosphere at Rådhusplassen last year, and we are ready for his energy, joy and refreshing, groundbreaking sound again.
F1rstman, whose real name is Hassan Syed, was born in Lahore but grew up in the Netherlands. He started playing various percussion instruments at an early age before discovering hip-hop in his teens, and today his musical style is truly influenced by his cultural background, combining the Bollywood music of his childhood with the Arabic melodies he picked up at neighborhood shisha cafes, the qawwali and Sufi melodies his father listened to, and the hip-hop and R&B styles that characterized his youth.
F1rstman's genre play is both groundbreaking and danceable, but heavy beats and lots of energy. Despite millions of streams, gold and platinum successes, F1rstman is most concerned with spreading joy, energy and community - something he will definitely achieve at Oslo Mela in August.
Solar System
– Electronic and visual madness
Systema Solar moves at the intersection of electronic music interspersed with small doses of hip hop, house and techno, and the sounds and colors of the Colombian-Caribbean coast.
Systema Solar is an innovative musical-visual collective from the Caribbean coast of Colombia, founded in late 2006 to open the Medellin Art Biennial MDE07. Inspired by the piko culture, the group's members come together to create, adapt and reinvent music through improvisation and with the goal of spreading joy and dance. Systema Solar recycles Afro-Caribbean and Colombian traditional music such as cumbia, bullerengue, porro and champeta with electronic tools and styles such as hip hop, house, techno and breakbeats, all with a clear social and sustainable message.
Live, they offer a colorful and extravagant universe with costumes, sets and music that provides an unstoppable dance urge in the audience.
