Pili Pili Girls became a sensation at the 10th anniversary of the Nyege Nyege festival last year, and now this supergroup comes to MelaKlubb to give us a lesson in the twerking rave culture that characterizes Tanzania's energetic singeli scene. The hyper-fast electronic singeli genre emerged in the working-class neighborhoods of Dar-es-Salaam and has since spread the intense street rave energy to dance-happy people all over the world. Pili Pili Girls consists of four of the most iconic singeli artists; Anti Vairas, Kadilida, Nana and Zai, and at their first concert in Norway they are ready to send the audience into pure dance ecstasy with spontaneous choreographies, mosh pits and hyper-energetic singeli rhythms.

DJ Machal , which means cousin in Tamil, is an Oslo-based Eelam Tamil DJ who serves up girly pop mayhem, heavy beats and club sounds from the global south. Their sound is driven by the mission to bring more queer and Tamil rhythms into the global club music scene, but is also deeply inspired by Brazilian block party culture and heavy baile funk and genres such as reggaeton, perreo, hyperpop, dancehall and dembow. As a queer DJ, their sets focus on femmes and queer artists from across the global south.
