Ashraf Sharif Khan represents a new generation of master musicians in the raga tradition, a musical tradition that has been inherited from father to son for hundreds of years. He lives in Hamburg, has collaborated with artists from several genres, including Oddrun Lilja Jonsdottir, and has toured all over the world. Just like his father and grandfather, Ashraf Sharif Khan belongs to the famous Poonch Gharana school. His music is characterized by an astonishing technical skill and a melodic beauty, and meets both new and experienced listeners of Southeast Asian music
