– East Asia meets the West in a boundless musical fusion

Saiyuki Trio consists of Nguyên Lê on guitar, Mieko Miyazaki on koto, and Prabhu Edouard on tabla. Each musician is a virtuoso on their instrument, and together they create a musical playground and a poetic jazz epic that takes listeners on a journey across cultures and Asian musical heritage.

"Saiyuki" is the Japanese title of the Chinese novel "Journey to the West", and thus an apt metaphor for how the three musicians take their musical traditions from Japan, Vietnam and India as their starting point, add Western impulses, and weave it all together into a magical musical dialogue that creates a new form of wholeness.

The result is an extremely interesting sonic landscape that blurs the musical framework and creates an "Asia without borders."
