– Powerful and energetic soul and blues
Adama Janlo has roots from Gambia, grew up in Sagene and draws musical inspiration from both West Africa and the Mississippi Delta when she creates her distinctive expression within blues, R&B and neo soul.
With her infectious energy, powerful voice and hypnotic presence, and a delivery that balances intensity and vulnerability, Adama Janlo has in a short time distinguished herself as a distinctive voice on the European music scene and recently went all the way to the top in the European Blues Challenge in Poland.
She is described as both a firework of an artist, but also as a multi-talented artist and has also convinced as an actress in the performances "My Story – Hope Road 56 Revisited" about reggae legend Bob Marley at the opera and in the solo performance "Ganu fɔlɔ donkɛ – Historien om mitt liv" which was based on her own life. Last fall she released her critically acclaimed debut album "A Free Woman", and we can't help but look forward to experiencing this energetic and impressive artist live at Rådhusplassen!
