About the musicians:

Sunthar Kanesan has played mirthangam professionally since 1992 and has played with renowned Norwegian, Indian and Sri Lankan musicians. He is a music educator at the Norwegian Academy of Music and has taught at the Oslo Cultural School since 2006. He is also very committed to strengthening the musical cultural identity of Tamil music and has started the music school "Naadhaantham", where he teaches children in both Western and Carnatic music, and holds courses to make Tamil instruments more known. And last but not least, he contributed musically to 9 Grader Nord's album Yalpanam.

Manipallavam Kanakaratnam Sarangan is one of the leading classical performers in the UK. He grew up in an artistic family, his mother Sangeetha Booshanam Srimathy Thillainayaki was his first guru and his father, Kalabooshanam Subramaniam Kanakaratnam, is a renowned poet, writer and lecturer. He holds a PhD in Music from Bharthidasan University, has released several albums and has also won several talent awards. As an artist, he focuses on the boundless power of music and is concerned with how music unites people.

Durai Balasubramaniam comes from a musical family, and his unique talent was discovered early. His father, Professor Shri TS Duraisamy, began teaching both him and his brother at an early age, and together they have performed across much of India. Throughout his career, he has received several awards and distinctions and has performed and taught the violin for more than 40 years in both India and the UK.

Sneha Sunthar works as a nurse, but spends every spare moment on music. She is the daughter of Sunthar Kanesan and has played mirthangam since she was little and has gradually started learning ghatam, an instrument known for having too few female players. She also plays keyboards, guitar, bass and drums, and plays in the group Isai with Imir with Ayushi.
