Film+conversation: The Oslo Accords; the effect 30 years later

Tuesday, March 17

Melahuset
6:00 P.M.

This year's Social Workers' Week will be held March 16–22, 2026. In this regard, Socionomers Against Genocide, in collaboration with Historians for Palestine, Borderless Oslo and Melahuset for a film screening and panel discussion.

It is 30 years since the Oslo Accords. The film being screened is a documentary that explores how the Oslo Accords have affected the lives of young Palestinians. Through personal stories and historical context, the film seeks to provide a deeper understanding of the agreement's long-term consequences.

Why are anti-genocide social workers showing this film?

Social work is not only about the individual, but also about the structural and political conditions that shape people's lives. This year's Social Workers' Day highlights the importance of professional reflection, solidarity and a critical look at power structures. Social criticism is an important part of social work because injustice, war and oppression also create social problems and affect people's living conditions.

We therefore invite you to an evening of film and conversation about history, politics and social responsibility. After the film screening, there will be a panel discussion where we take a historical look at the Oslo Accords and their impact, and gain insight into the role of social workers in the face of global injustice.
