A tribute to the Nomad, Michy and Said

Thursday, November 20

7:00 P.M.

"The Nomad changed my music" – Bugge Wesseltoft

For many years, the legendary club Nomaden was the natural gathering place for anyone whose heart beat for organic rhythms and moods, North African electronica, Afrobeat, reggae, neo-soul, hip hop and cosmic disco. But Nomaden was more than just a vibrant nightclub with hot DJs and a dance floor. There were daily jam sessions led by Said and Michy Mano, who in addition to singing, playing gumbri and DJing, also worked to bring new people together on stage. Thanks to Said and Michy, Nomaden also served as a door opener and a gathering place for artists from all over the world who had Oslo as their base, and helped to place Oslo on the map as a diverse music city.

In 2012, Nomaden closed its doors, but the club's legacy undoubtedly lives on to this day, and on Thursday, November 20, artist and composer Bugge Wesseltoft invites you to a celebration and tribute to Nomaden, Said and Michy Mano at Melahuset .

Doors open at 19:00
