Leisure clubs: where safety, hope and inclusion meet

Thursday, February 12

Melahuset
5:30 P.M.

According to the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, all children and young people have the right to participate in leisure activities, arts and culture. However, inclusive and accessible leisure facilities are not a given for everyone. We at the volunteer group Redd Barna Oslo invite you to an evening where we celebrate the important value of the leisure club – a low-threshold service that means a lot to many children and young people, and which deserves greater political attention.

When: Thursday, February 12 at 6:00 PM
Light refreshments from 5:30 p.m.
Where: Melahuset , Mariboes gate 8, 0183 Oslo

The evening will consist of several presentations, followed by a political debate, where we will spotlight the multifaceted value of the leisure club – social, preventive and cultural.

We hear from:
– Leo Ajkic: debate leader
– Don Martin: post holder
– Hanne Markhus Andersen: represents the police
– Mira Aaboen Sletten: represents NOVA

– Eili Vigestad Berge (Left)
– Margit Bye (MDG)
– Ola Wolff Elvevold (SV)
– Jorunn Folkvord (Red)
– Tove Gjersrud (Right)
– Maria Qureshi (Labour Party)
– Magnus Birkelund (FRP)

The event is open to anyone who is involved in the upbringing of children and young people – whether you are a professional, politician, young person, adult, parent or just curious.

Welcome to an important and engaging evening!

It happens at Melahuset
