A Small Mystery in Oslo’s Underground
Sometimes small artistic traces appear in public almost by accident—faintly present on streaming services and in intimate live shows scattered around the city. They arrive without major campaigns, without press kits, without clear identities. Just a name, some music, and the suggestion that something is there. One such project has begun to surface under a name that feels more like a mood than an identity: Conscious Noir.

In December 2025, the album Cool Beans appeared quietly on streaming platforms. Ten tracks, just under 25 minutes, released through the independent labels Mama Kjøge Records and Antipode Music. The release passed largely unnoticed in traditional media, yet remains as a subtle imprint in the digital landscape.
Among the tracks, “Déjà Vu,” a collaboration with Marc Lord, has gradually found its way to listeners, quietly surpassing 6,000 streams on Spotify—a small but telling sign that the project is beginning to circulate beyond its immediate orbit.
Now, a new chapter is emerging.
Conscious Noir is set to release a new album titled what flows well, goes well—a continuation of the project’s understated presence, where poetic fragments, jazz-influenced soundscapes, and hip hop rhythms intersect in unpredictable ways. As before, little is revealed. No official biography. No clear narrative. Only traces: the music, a handful of performances, and a growing group of listeners paying attention.
There are still only fragments.
But they are enough to follow.
