Foredrag & åpen dialog om Iran #4: War Through a Woman’s Lens
lørdag 30. mai
- Melahuset
- 18:30
On May 30, we invite you to an evening of conversation and reflection exploring how war is experienced, remembered, and resisted through women’s perspectives.
While our previous events have often focused on Iran, this gathering expands the conversation beyond national borders to examine how war and displacement have shaped the lives of women across the region. Through personal experiences, artistic practices, political reflection, and collective memory, we ask: What becomes visible when war is seen through a woman’s lens?
This edition will be held in English.
Doors open: 18:30
Program starts: 19:00
Free admission
The evening features a special Q&A conversation between Dr. Maryam Palizban, a Berlin-based scholar of Cultural and Theater Studies, actress and author, and artist and curator Nasim Mashak. Together, they will discuss exile, resistance, art, and the realities of living through political violence and conflict.
The program also includes a panel discussion with Rana Issa, Banafsheh Ranji, and Mina Rafiq, moderated by Nasim Mashak. The panel brings together voices from different backgrounds and experiences to reflect on war’s lasting impact on women, both within and beyond borders.
Throughout the evening, there will also be live music curated by our house musician Kiana, who shapes the musical atmosphere of the program and invites new musicians to join and perform. This time Batucada Antifacista and Khalid Laaouam will accompany her on stage.
